The most popular items made in this way are; Aka-beko (red bull figures with amusing nodding heads), Okiagari-Koboshi (round bottomed dolls that can not be tipped over), paper windmills and various masks. These paper objects are traditionally regarded as talisman against sickness or bad luck and for the visitor make charming and unusual souvenirs.
