Aizu Seishu (Refined Sake)

Aizu is famous for its sake due to a number of factors such as its climate, the quality of the local rice and water and the skills of the local sake brewers.

Some Aizu sake breweries arrange tours so that visitors can actually see the sake-making process themselves. There are also sake museums attached to some breweries where you can see displays of traditional sake-making equipment and ancient documents recording the long tradition of sake brewing in Aizu.
