Takizawa Gohonjin
On the old road from Tsurugajo Castle a short distance after going past Iimoriyama Hill there is an old thatched-roof inn known as Takizawa Gohonjin which means Takizawa military headquarters. It was established between 1661 and 1673 as a resting place for the Aizu clan leaders on their way to or from Edo (now Tokyo).During the Boshin Civil War it served as the military headquarters of the Aizu clan. Bullet holes and sword marks can still be seen on some of its pillars.
