Shojoji Temple
One of the most famous temples in Aizu, this landmark was founded in 807 by the famous priest Tokuichi. The main statue Yakushinyorai, and other statues Nikko Bosatsu and Gekko Bosatsu, have been designated a natural treasure. The former lecture hall, Yakushido Hall, and nine of the Buddhist statues have been designated important cultural properties by the Japanese government.
